Questions and answers

How much does it cost?

Nothing. The converter is free to use and does not require an account.

What quality will my file be?

You choose. MP4 video is offered in each resolution the source has, up to 1080p. For sound you can pick MP3 at 192 kbps or M4A, which keeps the original audio track.

Which videos cannot be converted?

Anything longer than 2 hours, live broadcasts, private videos and videos that need a signed-in or age-verified account. Heavy use from one connection is rate limited.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Yes. On Android the file lands in Downloads. On iOS, Safari stores it in the Files app, in the Downloads folder.

What happens to the converted files?

They are stored only long enough for you to download them — at most 15 minutes — and are then removed automatically. See the Privacy Policy for the details.

Am I allowed to download any video?

No. Use the service only for your own uploads, for videos whose licence permits copying (Creative Commons, public domain) or when the rights holder has given you permission. Saving videos may breach YouTube’s Terms of Service, and local copyright law applies to you.
